Checkers — Rules & Docs
Everything you need to know about the game, the challenging bot, winning, claiming, and verifying SOL rewards.
1. The game
Game 2 is standard American checkers played on an 8×8 board. You play the red pieces and the server-controlled bot plays black. Red moves first.
2. How to play
- Click a red piece, then click one of its highlighted legal destination squares.
- Pieces move diagonally forward one square.
- Captures jump diagonally over an opposing piece into an empty square.
- If any capture is available, a capture is mandatory.
- If a capture creates another capture with the same piece, the jump sequence continues until no further capture is available.
- A piece that reaches the opposite back rank becomes a king and can move and capture in both directions.
3. Challenging bot
The opponent is not a random-move bot. Its decisions are calculated server-side with alpha-beta minimax search, material and positional evaluation, mandatory-capture logic, and capture extensions. It is deliberately tuned to be difficult to beat while keeping games responsive.
4. What counts as a win
- You must eliminate the bot's pieces or leave the bot with no legal move.
- The server validates every move and controls the board state.
- A browser-side board or fake win cannot unlock a claim.
- At least 30 seconds must have passed since the game started before a verified win can be claimed.
5. The reward formula
reward = floor(reward wallet SOL balance / 30)
Checkers pays 1/30 of the reward wallet's SOL balance at the moment the claim is processed. Example: if the wallet has 3 SOL, the nominal reward is 0.1 SOL. The next payout is calculated from the new on-chain balance.
6. Where rewards come from
The reward wallet is funded by the project's creator-fee revenue. If the wallet balance is low or incoming fees stop, rewards become smaller. Rewards are not guaranteed independently of the wallet balance.
7. How to claim
- Finish a verified winning game.
- Wait until the 30-second minimum play period has passed.
- Enter a valid Solana wallet address.
- The server validates the win and sends the SOL payout on-chain.
8. Anti-abuse rules
- Each game can be claimed only once.
- A wallet is limited to one claim per 24 hours.
- Claim and game-start requests are rate-limited.
- The server is authoritative for moves, wins, timing, and payouts.
- Payouts are serialized so simultaneous claims cannot spend the same reward balance twice.
9. On-chain verification
Every successful reward is a normal SOL transfer from the reward wallet. The game provides a transaction link after payout so the amount, sender, recipient, and transaction status can be checked independently on a block explorer.
10. Reward wallet
The same project reward wallet used by the arcade's other games funds Checkers. Checkers uses a 1/30 divisor rather than 1/10.
11. Important limitations
- This is an experimental rewards game.
- Reward size depends on the reward wallet balance.
- Network conditions and wallet balance can affect payout timing and amount.
- This documentation describes game mechanics and is not financial advice or a promise of investment returns.
12. Security
The payout signing key remains server-side and is never exposed through the game interface. The browser submits moves and claim requests, but the Checkers server is the authority that validates them.
